What you will feel

TOI unfolds in layers. Menthol, camphor and borneol create a distinctly cooling aromatic opening. Makrut lime and pomelo peel bring citrus freshness, while black pepper, cloves, nutmeg and samul waeng form a warm, layered spice base. Open the jar, gently inhale the aroma and experience Toi’s Thai herbal ritual.

  • A distinctly cooling aromatic sensation
  • Ingredients of natural origin
  • Six botanical ingredients and three aromatic crystals
  • Layers of citrus, herbs and warm spice
  • A moment of freshness at home, at work or while travelling
  • Prepared by Toi in U Thong

The effect is sensory and temporary.

A bright menthol coolness

Menthol is one of the most pronounced notes in the TOI aroma. Its cool character is there from the first breath.

How to use it

Unscrew the jar, hold it near your nose and take one or two gentle breaths of the aroma. Close it tightly after use.

Important

  • Avoid contact with the eyes and do not insert the product into your nostril. On skin, menthol and camphor may briefly cause a cooling or slight tingling sensation. If you feel irritation, rinse with water.
  • Not for oral use. Keep out of reach of children.

How Valdas found Toi

Toi — Kruawan Klaijinda — makes this inhaler as part of her community and of U Thong culture. In her workshop she runs sessions where visitors blend a jar of their own at that same table, and the tradition is handed on directly.

The brand name is หัวโตป้าต้อย, "Auntie Toi's big head". The same big-headed figure, whose motif goes back to the forms of ancient U Thong and the Dvaravati period, is printed on the yellow label.

Travelling through Thailand, Valdas stopped in U Thong — an ancient town in Suphan Buri province. Beside the road, under an open roof, stood a round table covered in red cloth. Toi was working at it.

He filmed the whole morning: a green makrut lime picked from the branch, a card standing beside every dish with the ingredient's name, dried botanicals settling into a small glass jar.

An aroma passed down through generations

The story of the TOI aroma begins in a family.

According to Toi, this herbal aroma has been handed down through her family from one generation to the next, together with the knowledge of the ingredients, how they are combined and how they are prepared.

Old family photographs and the stories kept alongside them speak of the long history of this family and its ties to the local community.

Today Toi carries that tradition on. She keeps the family recipe, prepares this herbal aroma herself, and passes on what the family has preserved through the generations.

Every TOI jar is a living continuation of a family story.
